Documents & Contracts

Sending Documents via Email, SMS, or Public Link

Documents & Contracts gives you three ways to get a document in front of a signer, so you can meet customers wherever they are.

Email is the default option, the recipient gets a branded email with a secure link to view and sign the document, along with reminder emails if it goes unsigned.

SMS sending works the same way but delivers a short text message with a signing link, which is ideal for time-sensitive documents like quotes and work orders where customers respond faster to a text than an email.

Public document links let you generate a shareable URL for a document that isn't tied to a single contact, useful for posting a standard agreement on your website, sharing in a chat conversation, or handing out at an in-person appointment. Anyone with the link can open and sign the document, and a contact record is created automatically the moment they do.

However you send it, you can track opens, views, and signature status in real time from the Documents & Contracts dashboard, and recipients always have the option to decline a document, which notifies you immediately so you can follow up.

To choose a sending method, open any document and select Send via Email, Send via SMS, or Copy Public Link before delivering it to your signer.
