Companies give you a way to track B2B accounts as their own records, separate from individual contacts, so you can see the full picture of an organization you sell to, not just the people inside it.
A Company record holds information about the business itself, name, industry, address, website, and any custom fields you define, while individual Contacts (the people who work there) can be linked to it. This means a single Company record can have several associated contacts, and every deal, note, and activity tied to those contacts rolls up to the account level.
Getting started is straightforward:
- Create Companies one at a time from the Companies tab, or bulk import a full list using a CSV file
- Link existing contacts to a Company as you import or manually associate them afterward
- Use Smart Lists to build filtered, saved views of your Companies, for example all accounts in a certain industry or above a certain deal size, so you can segment your B2B accounts the same way you already segment contacts
Companies show up alongside Contacts and Opportunities throughout the CRM, giving your team an account-level view of every relationship, not just a contact-level one.
To begin, open Contacts -> Companies, create your first record or import a CSV, and start associating your existing contacts.
